Why Hollands? Havn’t your heard~ Hollands RULE! I got started in rabbits in 4-H sometime around middle school. My best friend and I both signed up for the rabbit project, I wanted to show my horse, and did for awhille, but the horse shows were expensive, and the horses even more so! It didn’t take long to get my mom hooked, and soon we all three were travling to shows all over, we had some great times! My main breed as a kid was Mini Lops, I also had a few fuzzy lops, dutch and English Angoras. My mom had Mini Rex, Silver Martins, Fuzzy’s and Mini’s also, I am sure we had a few others here and there, I know I fed a Harlequin for a while! I showed until I left for college, and went on to Vet Tech school. After College and a few years, I found myself living in Maryland, the house had a bunny hutch left in the back yard. I started thinking about how much I missed my bunnies, had the talk with my husband, and started looking on the internet for rabbit show info. I decided on Hollands because I didn’t think I could handle the Mini Lops as easily anymore, and I gotta say the Hollands were way cutier than the Hollands I remember as a kid! I also really admire the Netherland Dwarf breed, and have recently purchased a doe, an Opal. I’m still waiting for the right buck! I am a member of ARBA, HLRSC, ANDC, Husker Hollands, Mid-America Netherland Dwarf, serving as the Vice President, as well as the Nebraska Tower on the Plains RBA where I serve as president. Thanks for looking, and check out my website for more info on my rabbits.
